The Biography of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is the story of a personality whose uniqueness and greatness have been acknowledged not only by Muslims but also by non-Muslims. Moreover it is also unparalleled in the sense that renowned Muslim scholars have preserved it for the future generations through their writings making it beneficial for humanity until the Day of Judgment.
Unfortunately, some opponents of Islam have been displeased with the popularity of the Prophet’s biography and have attempted to deny his prophethood and authenticity through their writings. They aimed to criticize and belittle the Prophet (peace be upon him) to distance non-Muslims from Islam and create doubts among Muslims about their Prophet.
Among these opponents of Islam is Julius Willhausen, a German or, who has targeted every aspect of the Prophet's biography, distorting his personality and character to deny his prophet hood.
In this regard, Willhausen has tried to degrade the prophet’s social status, presenting Banu Umayyad are more honourable and powerful tribe than Banu Hashim, which is contrary to historical facts.
This article will provide a research-based critical analysis of Willhausen's objections, shedding light on historical evidence and Hadiths.
