Rhyming Translation “Mazāmīn al-Qur’ān al-Majīd”: An Introduction and Analytical Study

According to religion Islam, Holy Qur’ān is the last divine message of Allah Almighty revealed on Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The addressee of this Holy book is entire mankind. As far the language of last revelation is concerned, it is Arabic which is unfamiliar to many non-Arab nations. To elaborate this divine message, number of translations in different languages has been done. Urdu is a widely understandable language in subcontinent hence number of Urdu translation of Holy Qur’ān were produced in this region in prose and poems. Many of these rhyming translations has been published but among them particularly two rhyming translations cannot be attributed or considered as rhyming translation as they do not fulfill the technical requirements of rhyming translation. One of these was written by Brigadier Dr. Mukhtar ‘Ālam. He graduated from ‘Alī Garh Muslim University and served 35 years in Indian Army. For long ago he is doing research on Qur’ānic sciences. This research article is a brief analysis of his Qur’ānic rhyming translation name, Mazāmīn al-Qur’ān al-Majīd.
