Abstract

This article explores the importance of promoting good and preventing evil in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah. It explains that amr bil ma‘ruf and nahi ‘anil munkar are not only core teachings of Islam, but also essential for building a morally strong and socially balanced community. The article shows that Islam encourages believers to spread goodness, stop wrongdoing, and play an active role in reforming society. By referring to Qur’anic verses and Prophetic teachings, it highlights that the rise or decline of a nation is closely linked to whether it upholds these values. The study concludes that enjoining good and forbidding evil is vital for protecting faith, maintaining justice, and ensuring success in both this world and the Hereafter.
