Abstract

Absolute efficiency of HPGe and NaI(Tl) detectors have been interrogated for gamma-ray spectroscopy using standard radioactive sources. These standard radioactive sources indicated the resolution and also calibrated curves were acquired to linearized the system. Furthermore, measured efficiencies have been fitted using five degree of polynomial in the energy domain. The optimized polynomial coefficients of each detector were calculated at different distances and data reported. The efficiencies of two detectors with different resolution were accomplished for four distinct geometries 4, 8, 12 and 16 cm distances from the termination cap detector along the center line of detector. The measure efficiencies are in good agreement with calculated values using proposed matrix solution
