This research explores the purposive approach in the missionary thought of Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a method that connects Islamic preaching with the overarching objectives of Sharia while maintaining a conscious awareness of societal realities and modern transformations. It highlights al-Qaradawi’s adoption of a balanced methodology that integrates religious texts, intended purposes, and contextual jurisprudence, enabling him to deliver a flexible and balanced discourse capable of addressing contemporary Muslim concerns. The study focuses on the key objectives that shaped his preaching, such as preserving religion, refining the soul, establishing justice, promoting ethics, achieving benefit, and preventing harm. It also illustrates how this approach manifested in his writings and lectures through facilitation, moderation, dialogue, and contemporary scholarly effort. Ultimately, the research concludes that al-Qaradawi’s purposive method represents a significant model in missionary studies, as it goes beyond understanding legal rulings to grasp their deeper objectives and spirit, offering an accessible and constructive message that responds to human needs in today’s world.
