About the Journal

Pakistan Gender Review is an online, open-access, peer-reviewed journal that provides a forum for scholars, independent researchers, professionals and activists and students to explore the relationships among theories of gender and sexuality and various forms of organizing and critical practices prevalent within the field. We adopt an interdisciplinary approach to the changing nature of both gender relations and women's experiences. By drawing on a range of disciplines like gender, minorities cultural studies, history, literature, philosophy, politics, sociology, social policy, education and media – PGR explores the differing perspectives each has to offer, as well as the creative tensions between them. The journal addresses different topics such as gender violence (domestic violence, sexual harassment, sexual abuse, institutional violence, etc), health and gender (illness and treatment related to gender, physical and psychological welfare, etc), education and gender, theories about love, new masculinities, feminist theory, multiculturality and gender, women and religion, women in history, poverty and gender, femininity models, transsexuality and gender diversity, women and image, gender and media, female leadership and women in organizations and the business world. However, it is not limited to these; believing in diversity, there are other articles and other topics accepted always related to gender. All articles accepted for publication are always oriented to the overcoming of inequalities and gender discrimination.

This scientific journal has a national international reach. Incorporating an international vision, it includes book reviews, and congresses, related to the topic of the journal. It addresses mainly researchers on the gender issues, as well as professionals in the area. It is also oriented to professionals of education, health, social sciences as well as others, whose experience might not be related to gender issues but who are still interested in the topic due to the gender problems arising in their professional domain and in its daily life.

Pakistan Gender Review will Publish articles in English and it will be published biannually in March and September.

Peer Review Policy

All research articles in this journal have to undergo a rigorous peer review system. It will be

decided on the initial editorial screening and refereeing to the two anonymous referees.
