In contemporary Pakistan, feminist movements have played a significant role in advancing the protection and promotion of women’s social, legal, and economic rights. Movements such as the “Aurat March” have brought issues of gender equality, the elimination of domestic violence, and women’s autonomy into the national discourse. However, several concepts and slogans associated with these movements have generated disagreement and debate within religious and cultural circles. The Islamic perspective is grounded in the principles of justice, balance, human nature, and moral responsibility, which grant both men and women human dignity and fundamental equality while acknowledging natural distinctions in their roles and responsibilities. This research study undertakes a comparative analysis of the ideological and social frameworks of contemporary feminist movements in Pakistan in relation to Islamic principles. While feminist and Islamic viewpoints converge on issues such as education, economic security, and freedom from violence, divergences arise concerning absolute bodily autonomy and the reconfiguration of family structures. The purpose of this study is to offer a balanced perspective that promotes women’s legitimate social and legal rights within the boundaries of Islamic values.
