Abstract

This research examines the comprehensive text of the hadith about the story of Umm Sulaym (may God be pleased with her) upon the death of her son, as found in various hadith collections. It also addresses critical analysis of additions outside the two Sahih collections (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim), presenting a coherent and sequential approach that allows the reader to perceive it as a complete context. Furthermore, it clarifies the principles for comparing different texts and explains the relationships and connections between them. The researcher did not focus on detailed legal interpretations scattered throughout commentaries, so as not to burden the research with previously discussed material. Instead, the focus was on textual comparisons, specifically differences in wording, sentence structure, or arrangement, and anything related to this topic. The researcher explained the reasons for these differences and briefly noted the meanings of unfamiliar terms in the footnotes. The research concluded that one of the most significant benefits of a comprehensive text is that it reveals the hadith narrative in its entirety, including its origins and details. It resolves ambiguities, clarifies discrepancies, and highlights meanings and legal implications. The research also concluded that the principles for comparative analysis warrant dedicated study and examination within analytical hadith research. He recommended expanding upon all aspects of the hadith about Umm Sulaym (may God be pleased with her) upon the death of her son, Abu Umayr (may God have mercy on him), and connecting them to reality and psychological analysis, so that it would be compiled into a complete and comprehensive book.
