Abstract

This study aims to examine the Islamic intellectual and philosophical trends in confronting the challenges posed by contemporary global strategies, particularly in the context of globalization and the digital age. The research highlights how the Islamic worldview, rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah, does not reject modern developments but seeks to provide ethical and epistemological alternatives that preserve the identity and civilizational balance of the Muslim community. Historically, Islamic philosophy has established a holistic vision of humanity based on the principles of moderation, justice, and human dignity—principles that remain relevant in offering critical foundations against material hegemony and dominant Western intellectual paradigms in politics, economics, and media. The study also explores the contributions of contemporary Muslim thinkers and philosophers who employ maqāṣid al-sharīʿah (objectives of Islamic law) and Islamic philosophical reasoning to address issues such as consumerism, environmental justice, and social fragmentation in the digital economy. Thus, the paper provides an analytical perspective that integrates Islamic authenticity with a critical engagement of global issues, emphasizing that Islamic thought continues to enrich global philosophical discourse and present a viable civilizational alternative.
