Abstract

The poetic charisma of Allama Iqbal is not only due to his ideas and a personal magic of leadership arousing special popular loyalty and enthusiasm as a public figure but there are many other reasons as well. One of them is admiring and admitting the greatness of the fabulous brains of his ancestors and of his own era as well with open heart. When we study the poetry of Allama Iqbal we realize Iqbal admiring the geniuses of different aspects of life via mentioning their names in his poetry, highlighting their ideology and writing poems with the title of their names. In Iqbal’s collection of Urdu poetry we see more than 50 poems having title on the names of personalities who impart their impact on the people and world as well. These addressed personalities are beyond the precincts and limitations of caste, color, race, region and religion. One of such poem is titled as “ سوامی رام تیرتھ”  and is included in “ Bang e Dara” . Ram Tirath was a Hindu Swami who died in strange circumstances which are still a matter of mystery for people. Initially it was a poem comprising seven coupelets later on Allama Iqbal resized it to six couplets. In this poem Iqbal has praised the idealogy of Swami RaamTirath.
