Abstract

Allama Iqbal (1877-1938) was a covenant-making person. He has written poetry in both Persian and Urdu languages. His greatness was first recognized in his own home through Urdu poetry and then Persians made him the sage of the entire East. Allama Iqbal's Urdu poetry went through several stages of evolution. Discussions found in Iqbal's Urdu poetry are called discussions of Iqbaliat. Where Iqbal's Muslim wisdom and religious insight exposed the basic weakness of Western civilization, he helped Muslims highlight the basic realities of Islam. In the history of Urdu poetry, Allama Iqbal is the only poet who breathed a new spirit in poetry with his special color and new intellectual sense, with reliable subjects and innovative works, allusions and philosophy. He gave such a tone to poetry that people started liking his poetry. Poets started following and imitating Iqbal. Iqbal's thoughts and ideas are reflected in his poetry like a mirror.
