Abstract

Dr. Aslam Ansari was a multi-dimensional literary personality. Along with poetry in Urdu, Persian, English and Saraiki, he has also done insightful work of research and criticism. He has a very high standing among the experts of Iqbal. He has also been closely related to fiction.“Gulbang-e-Arzoo” is a collection of Persian poetry by Dr. Aslam Ansari. It includes five of his fascinating and thought-provoking Masnavis, as well as a valuable Dewan. The great Persian poet Nizami wrote five Masnavis and introduced the tradition of "Khamsa" in literature and many great poets followed him and strengthened this tradition. Dr. Aslam Ansari was the bearer of this tradition in our era. Dr. Aslam Ansari's Persian poetry, like his Urdu poetry, is a masterpiece of thought and art and a treasure of knowledge and wisdom. He has written poetry in many genres, but his nature is particularly fond of Masnavi and Ghazal. After Allama Iqbal, there is no Persian poet like him in Pakistan. He has translated a large part of Allama Iqbal's Urdu works into Persian with great excellence. In this article, an introductory study of his Persian poetry collection "Gulbang-i Arzoo" is presented and his artistic skills are studied.
