Digitalization of Environmental Sustainability and its impact on Organizational Performance

Abstract

Digital Transformation (DT) refers to the tremendous changes that occurred in society, business, and government.  DT is expected to accelerate its effects on environmental sustainability by providing improvements in environment, human health and food chain, hence there is a need to further investigate the impact of digital transformation on environmental sustainability. Digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things have strengthened businesses .There are currently no studies that map digital transformation in the context of environmental sustainability. Practicing environmental sustainability in current business models creates value for customers and enhances the customer loyalty. However, the question of the organization’s overall performance remains unanswered. Through quantitative analysis, this project identifies the impact caused by digital transformation in the environmental sustainability domain.
