Surah Bani Isra’il (Surah Al-Isra) presents a profound discourse on the themes of divine justice, resurrection, and life after death, emphasizing the concept of Tadhkeer bil-Mawt wa Ma Ba’d al-Mawt (remembrance of death and the afterlife). This study explores how the Surah addresses these themes in light of the historical narrative of Bani Isra’il, drawing lessons relevant to contemporary Muslim societies. Through an exegetical analysis of key Quranic verses and supporting Hadith literature, this paper highlights the Surah’s warnings against moral corruption, materialism, and negligence of spiritual responsibilities. It further examines the consequences of disobedience to divine commandments, illustrating how the repeated rise and fall of Bani Isra’il serve as a cautionary tale for present-day believers. Additionally, the study delves into the psychological and ethical implications of remembering death, emphasizing how it fosters humility, accountability, and adherence to Islamic values. The research employs a qualitative methodology, incorporating classical and modern Tafsir (Quranic exegesis) to contextualize the Surah’s message within contemporary socio-religious challenges. Findings suggest that an increased awareness of death and the afterlife encourages individuals to prioritize righteousness, leading to personal and societal transformation. This study contributes to Islamic scholarship by reaffirming the Quranic emphasis on eschatological consciousness as a means to cultivate moral integrity and spiritual resilience.
