Abstract

Islamic political system is an interpretation as well as the political identification of Islam. The Linkage of politics to religion is well known, especially among the Followers of Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and their commoners. The word politics is not mentioned in the Holy Qur'ān. But its meaning and content are embedded in the Holy Qur'ān. The terms of political significance are widespread in the Qur'ān.

The Qur'ānic verses include the basic concept of politics and its system. However, basic ideology of politics and its origins and rules is reflecting from Qur'ānic verses without marking the word of   'politics'. But Caliphate, governance, principality, succession, kingship, mandate, sovereignty, consultation, judiciary, war, peace and treaty are the words of Qur'ān and narrated under the shed of politics. This article addresses all of these basic terms in detail and the basic principles and objectives of Islamic politics. It also explains the theme of Islamic guidance for developing legal system, integration between government and people, unity of the people and leadership, social justice, law and order, country defense and reforming the life and hereafter. The first Islamic welfare state was established on these foundations. At this time the bad political situation can be make better in the light of these basic political Islamic principles and Muslims can regain their lost political, economic, social, defense and religious position in the world today.
