Abstract

In the Indian subcontinent, from the earliest days, there have been some people whose thoughts and ideas are orientalists and they have been pursuing their agenda from the beginning. For the past few years, these people have been very active in fulfilling their ambitions and goals. This modern educated class of theologians considers rational justification as the basis of reasoning. In their case, rational and logical objections in the context of Ḥadīth and Sunnah are more acceptable. This is the essence of rationalism. Which has the cloak of modern concepts and interpretations. Istikhfaaf means to make the hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) doubtful in any way. To misinterpret the meaning of aḥādīth, to deny authentic aḥādīth in any way, and to devise rules for accepting and rejecting aḥādīth arbitrarily apart from the Salaf Imāms. Farāhī group of thought is among these groups who are creating doubts about the Ḥadīths. This article will analyze their approach.
