Abstract

It is the Arabs who revealed the Qur’an in their Language, and Arabic was derived from their words, and evidence was taken in the meanings of the Qur’an and strange hadiths from their poetry, and wisdom and morals were attributed to them. One of the most important Rhetorical arts of their immortal language is the Metaphor, which is intended to employ the word in new meanings other than its lexical meaning what was placed for it in that language and is one of the most important means of linguistic expansion. The article sheds light on the metaphor of their language to indicate what the Qur’an approves of their words, its descent into their language, and their methods of eloquence and speech. Ibn Abbas said: Whoever claims that the Qur’an is not Arabic has been slandered.
