Ubaid Ul Allah Bin Jahsh Bin Rabab Al-Assadi Al-Qurshi, the son-in-law of Abu Sufyan R.A, was one of those people who converted to Islam by the advent of Islam. It has bibliographically and historically been alleged that he became an apostate when he migrated to Habshah. This article aims to investigate this issue and determine the veracity of such allegations that are mentioned in various narrations about becoming Ibn e Jahsh an apostate. However, the strong narrations in books of history and bibliography undoubtedly proves his companionship which lasts till his death. Firstly, the famous Hadith of Haraqal is an irrefutable evidence that all the companions who embraced Islam at early stages died as companions. Secondly, it is impossible that the father-in-law remains unaware of the religious status of his son-in-law. His migration along with his wife to Habshah also evidently demonstrates his companionship because the migration performed for the sake of protecting the religion. Finally, before his death he made a will with the name of the Prophet PBUH and after his death, the Prophet of Islam got married to his widow. Thus, the analysis of narrations and the strong record profoundly constitute the ground that Ubaid ul Allah Bin Jahsh remained a Muslim and died as a Muslim and Companion.
