Children stories in Arabic and Urdu Literature in the twentieth century

Abstract

Children's stories are one of the most important genres of children's literature. Since ancient times children stories were spread through oral medium. In the twentieth century the printed form of this genre gained further refinement. It is an observable phenomenon that the children's literature has been a subject of interest for writers living in different part of the world. Firstly, this research deals with historical evolution of children's literature especially, children's stories. Secondly, this research aims to find those factors that played pivotal role in the emergence of this literary genre in the literature of Arabic and Urdu languages. Thirdly this research also discusses the flourishing of children's stories in our time. This research sheds light upon the efforts and contributions of writers to refine the art of crafting children's stories. Lastly, this research explores the various dimensions of children's stories like imaginary, moral, educational, and fiction.
