Abstract

The article explicits the common characteristics of the Arabic literature of migrants and the Arabic literature in Andalus (now Spain).

Arabs invaded Spain in 8th century and ruled the country for about 8 centuries. Likewise in the past century, Many Arab writers migrated to America (especially North America) and produce literature. Both the literati have great significance in Arabic literature.

The article discusses the similarities of the two literatures. Both literatures have some common aspects. Both were written by Arabs but not in their home countries. Both were influenced by other literatures. In both literatures we find national affiliation towards their origin. They both explore nature and things. Nostalgia and alienation are also known. They also introduce a new type of stanza called “الموشحات”.
