Abstract

(Madhah) or praise has always been a very important and common topic of the poets in the literature of every nation. So the Arabs also exercised this topic and produced valuable poetry related to this topic from early time period of Jahiliyah or( pre Islam). Arabs in Pre Islam period were very much interested in poetry and also had complete skill in it. This Art travelled from generation to next generation.

In Muslim Spain (Andalus) when Arabs conquerors stepped on its earth. They were very much inspired by the beauty of Nature. Colorful flowers, green gardens, streams of silvery white water, grand buildings and more over white skin of its native people (men & women) blue eyes, beautiful reddish hair of its women motivated them to narrate all this beauty in their poetry.

Another factor to produce a big share of praise in poetry was their system of tribal life. There were many different tribes of Arabs in Muslim Spain which went there accompanied with conquerors. poets were  proud of their fellow tribes and praised its people, especially , of those who had some remarkable or designation of worth importance in the state.

 In the following article, detail discussion about the poetry in praise (Madhah) is made and references related to that type of poetry are also presented. However, it is initial work and it is recommended to researchers to study this poetry in the light of the Arabic poetry in east (Abbaside or Ummayad destiny itself).
