Abstract
- Abstract:
- This article investigates the sensory attributes of the human being as depicted in the Holy Qur’an, analyzed through the interpretative framework of Pir Karam Shah Al-Azhari (Zia-ul-Qur’an). This traditional exegeses are critically examined in conjunction with contemporary insights from modern science and neuroscience, in order to establish the enduring relevance of these attributes in today’s rapidly evolving world The Qur’an presents the human being as a unique integration of body and soul. This research classifies and analyzes these attributes by tracing their references across the Qur’anic text, supported by rich exegetical commentary from the aforementioned scholar. . The methodology adopted is analytical, thematic, comparative, and interdisciplinary. It involves a detailed textual analysis of selected verses, followed by a cross-comparison of the interpretative views of the Pir Karam shah. This religious insight is then critically juxtaposed with modern science. While modern science and psychology provide valuable empirical insights, the Qur’anic paradigm when interpreted through traditional tafsir offers a deeply rooted ethical and spiritual foundation that modern frameworks often lack.
- This study thus bridges the epistemological gap between Islamic revealed knowledge and contemporary human sciences, opening pathways for further interdisciplinary research and practical applications in education, therapy.
