Abstract

Praise be to Allah (S.W.T.) and peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah (S.W.T.) be upon our Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.), his Family, Companions, and all of those blessed souls that have followed his path throughout the course of history and will follow him in the coming generations until the Day of Judgment.

The Glorious Qur’an is such an ocean of truth and wisdom that has no limits. Allah (S.W.T.) revealed His 'Eternal Word', al-Qur'an, to His last and final Messenger, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him). It is indeed guidance and mercy for the whole of mankind and the miracle of all miracles divinely preserved till the Day of Judgment.

It is established that the Sunnah of Allah's Messenger (S.A.W.) is the main source of legislation in Islam, and the Mufassir is, therefore, required to take into consideration the sacred Sayings and Traditions (al-Hadith) of the Prophet (S.A.W) in the process of redacting and writing the Tafsir of the Qur'an.

Muhammad Abu Zahra (1898–1974) was an Egyptian public intellectual, scholar of the Islamic law, Mufassir of the Qur’an and celebrated author. He also served as a member of 'al-Azhar's Academy of Islamic Research,' which adds to his scholarship's credibility.
